Last week I attended the SaaStr Annual conference. A common theme across many of the discussions was how crucial it is for recurring revenue companies to understand the key metrics and drivers in their business. Our latest release is focused on helping SaaS companies clearly and easily understand how changes in their business impact these metrics.
We’ve expanded the SaaS metrics section in the old Growth screen and renamed it Analytics. This screen now includes three sections: Growth (analytics around the funnel and all items contributing to churn and growth of all products) and the SaaS summary and metrics sections I’m about to show you.
Just select SaaS Summary from the Analytics screen View menu to see a summary of key SaaS metrics for any individual recurring revenue product or a combined weighted average for all recurring revenue products. Now, this stuff can get complicated. So we show you the formula and values used right there.
The next SaaS metrics view we’ve added lets you see how these metrics are changing over time in your plan. Just select SaaS from that menu to view these charts for any time period in your plan.
There’s a lot more coming in this area. Next up is the ability to create custom product groups so you can view metrics for specific sets of products. We’d love to hear about any specific metrics/charts/reports you’d like to see calculated from your plan.
