One of the most powerful capabilities in Opstarts is the ability to easily model links and dependencies between items in your plans: upgrades and downgrades between products, hosting or shipping expenses required for each customer, leads generated from marketing expenses, in-app/add-on purchases, and countless other links between items that can be near impossible to model correctly in spreadsheets.
Two of the most common requests we’ve had around this functionality are to make it easier to view all the links impacting an item and to make it faster and simpler to create new links. We’ve completely redesigned the links interface to address both of these requests.
First, we’ve added a links bar in every item editor that lets you easily create any valid link to or from that item. Next, we’ve removed the different links sections in the editors and replaced them with a list of all the links related to that item so you can quickly view and edit any link.
Creating links is as simple as:
1) Push the button for the type of link you want to create.
2) Select the item you want to link to.
3) Select the direction you want the link to go to (for example, upgrades TO the other product, or upgrades FROM a different product).
4) Enter the required parameters for the link such as upgrade percentage, cost per lead, etc.
